Reformation.

I jokingly said last night that I was working on slow reform, trying to go to bed at what is honestly a pretty ridiculous hour for me. I want to start getting up early enough to enjoy a cup of coffee or two, my daily reading, some prayer and meditation, all from my east-facing window as the sun joins me. While the morning wasn’t entirely as serene as I would have liked, I did take time to sit and watch the sun breach the tree line, to read and pray and meditate on what the day will bring, and to take several deep, cleansing breaths before launching into the “doing” part of the day. Today, I am reminding myself to take those breaths, to be deliberately still, to insert pauses where before I would have continued forward on a path without conscious decision. My peace is in the pause, and I will take many, many, many of them today.
